World leader in specialised loadbank manufacturing and testing solutions, Crestchic has made three further key strategic appointments at its headquarters in Burton-on-Trent.
Taking up the position of Technical Proposals Manager is Garry Chamberlain, who brings 15 years’ experience of working as an Electrical Engineer at Crestchic with experience as a design engineer, then design manager.
He will be responsible for reviewing the suitability of current products and exploring alternative technologies for customers, ensuring that technical enquiries are fully compliant with customer specifications. At the same time, Garry will also identify potential improvements within the existing product portfolio by looking at how these can be integrated with newer products and technology. Finally, he will also prepare bespoke specifications for existing and bespoke products, ensuring that information is presented clearly for clients.

The new Head of Engineering is Neil Barber, who hasmore than 20 years of engineering experience gained at MEM Ltd. He started out as an apprentice where he gained an understanding of the fundamentals of engineering before taking up a role as a design engineer, using 3D CAD to design electrical distribution boards. After branching out into application engineering, he worked as a maintenance of line manager where he oversaw the design of production processes, ensuring they were carried out as efficiently as possible and that products were designed to allow for easy assembly. At this point he took up an engineering management role, where his main focus was on managing a team of engineers in delivering solutions to meet certain specifications. Reporting to the Plant Manager, his key duties will include making sure that products comply with specifications and suggesting further design improvements, where necessary.
Currently the business boasts 850 years of combined service across 65 employees at its headquarters in Burton-on-Trent.
On the subject of his new appointment, Neil said: “The goal for my new role is to continue the great work that has already been done by making an excellent product even better. I am committed to maintaining the highest levels of engineering excellence and to implementing impactful technical improvements that will further cement our position as an industry leader.”
Finally, following the retirement of Christine Jones after 15 years ofservice, Louise Passey takes over as Finance Manager. She will be responsible for managing the company’s financial accounting, formulating strategic and long-term business plans, and monitoring and reporting on factors that may impact on business success.
